‘jijin’ pear is a hybrid of ‘gold nijisseiki’ and ‘80-2-2’ (a hybrid offspring of ‘xiaodongguo’ × ‘jinfeng’) by institute of shijiazhuang fruit trees. it passed the validation of hebei provincial forestry species validation committee in 2020. the tree vigor is strong, with a medium budding rate and branching ability. it can bear fruit in 2~3 years after planting. the bourse shoots have a strong ability to bear fruit continuously.
the fruit matures in shijiazhuang in the first half of august, 5-7 days earlier than ‘huangguan’. the fruit is ovoid, with an average fruit weight over 300 g. the fruit peel is smooth, green-yellow, with a light red on the sunny side. the flesh is white, fine, crisp, juicy, with few stone cells and residues, with a sweet and sour flavour. the soluble solids content of the fruit was 13.1%, with excellent overall quality.
‘jixiu’ pear is a hybrid of ‘jimi’ and ‘xinhang’ by the institute and passed the validation of hebei provincial forestry species validation committee in 2020. the tree vigor is moderate, with high budding rate and medium branching ability, and can bear fruit in 2~3 years after planting. under natural pollination condition, the average fruit set per inflorescence is 3.2. the bourse shoots have a strong ability to bear fruit continuously and are productive.
the fruit matures in early august in the shijiazhuang area, 40 days earlier than ‘yali’. the fruit is oval, with an average fruit weight of 210 g. the fruit peel is green yellow, thin and smooth. there is an obvious "yatu" near the fruit stalk, which is similar to ‘yali’. the core is small, the flesh is white, crisp and juicy, with few stone cells, less residue, sweet and sour flavor, and the content of soluble solids is 12.9%. the overall quality of the fruit is better than ‘yali’.
